Battles • Part 4
We were born into a battle. There are no time outs, no vacations, no leaves of absence. But the good news is that God has not left us to live in defeat, but he has secured our victory by giving us weapons to fight with. God has given you weapons to fight every battle and those weapons have divine power so that you are always victorious. God allows only the battles to come our way that we are equipped to win through trusting in Him and focusing on Him.
What stood out to you in this week’s message?
We all face choices every day. Share with your group some of the choices you had to make this week.
Choosing to praise God in difficult situations will help to elevate our perspective to be able to see things from God’s perspective. Why do we often find it hard to praise God in difficult situations?
Can you share a time when the flow of a battle changed after you started to praise God?
Pastor James said: “You have a choice to let fear conquer your praise or to let praise conquer your fear”. How does that statement resonate with you? Why do we often think that we don’t have a choice?
Read Psalm 42:11. Notice that David is battling fear by asking the question…why and then responding with praise. How can we be more determined to ask the “why” question when we face fear or discouragement?
Read 2 Chronicles 20:22 & 27. Praise reminds us of who God is and of His promises. Your praise is an invitation to experience God’s provision. Take some time as a group to praise God and pray for each other.
