The Family – Part 1
Through Christ, we have been given the right, the privilege and the opportunity to come to God as Father and be loved as children of God. Jesus’ message was that God knows you, loves you, and wants you to come to Him as a Father. Jesus came to establish that relationship through his life, death, and resurrection. The mission of Jesus was to reveal that God is a Father.

Why do you think so many people see God as a judge or boss rather than a Father?
Read Luke 15:11-20. In order for God to deal with our issues, we must first deal with how we see God. Why was it so important for Jesus to paint this picture of God for us?
The son’s plan was to try to earn favor with his father. How did that work for him? Can you share a time when you thought you needed to earn favor with God?
Read Luke 15:20 again. How did the Father respond to his son? Why was this so upsetting to the audience?
Do you ever struggle with the idea that God, your Heavenly Father, runs to you when you turn to Him? Why or why not?
